Just Chasing the Dream

Today I am ending a part of my life that has gone on for 35 plus years. I am leaving my birth state of New Jersey, and heading south for a brighter future and a fresh start in North Carolina. I think it might be a while before I post anything new, but that does not mean I will not be working hard. I will be an originally story for a new/old character of mine. He will make his debut in a book that my amigo Lawrence is publishing. It's all top secret for now, but it has some sizzle! Much love to my peeps I'm leaving behind talk to y'all soon.

Killer Yo-Yo

A picture is worth a thousand words. You can think of your own.

This is just a mock up of a lacrosse helmet, with custom graphics for a fictional team. I will be designing actual team helmets in the very near future. I will post concept art and finished designs when I can.

Rat Fink

Ed Big Daddy Roth is one of my all time heroes, and favorite artists. He was the first man to put a design on a t-shirt. I drew this Rat Fink from a bobble head I have. I'm very happy with the result.

Ookla the Mok

Ookla was a great subsitution for Chewbacca, while George lucas left us hanging for so many years.

Tiny Vampire arm

Obviously this is also a Bruce Timm Inspired piece. What can I say, who is better at simplifying the form better then Mr. Timm.

The Killer

I think this would make a cool comic book cover, unfortunately I didn't make a comic book to draw a cover for. I don't know where, but the system broke down somewhere.

Heaven Girl

I wanted to create an opposite force for Hellboy, except she works for the bad guys. Heaven Girl tries to bring mayhem and destruction where ever she goes. She is basically like every other woman.

Dark Knights

So if you have not seen The Dark Knight, you are crazy, it is an amazing movie and has to be seen on the big screen. Here is a page of the man faces of Batman. I did this a couple days before the movie came out, I was a little excited about it.

Spawn & Tremor: Animated

I picked up a Commando Spawn animated figure on clearance last week or so, and I have to say it is the greatest action figure/statue I have ever seen. Great line of figures by McFarlane toys, who else inspired these two drawings.

Get 2 on Thursdays

I have not put up anything in a couple days, so you get two today. The Hulk vs a Walkink Eye and man with fire wings. How is that for a deal!?!

Norse Son of Thorin

This Viking character has been rattling around in my head for about ten years, this is the first time I have drawn him, where you can see his face. His name is Norse son of Thorin. I think he would be a fun character to do a comic about, hopefully someday I will do it.

Danger Room

This sketch was fully inspired by my new hero in the comics industry Eric Canete.
My version doesn't hold a candle to his original though. But that's why we practice.

I'll fight in the shade

Here"s an original creation, in my regular style. As you ca see, it needs to be a lot simpler if I want to be able to recreate characters over and over. Overall though I was really happy with the result of this drawing.

The Buccaneer

A modern day pirate sailing the seven seas, in search of treasure and booty to plunder. Join the club bub.

Wolverine Berserker!

As you can see I like to recreate a lot of other artists works. I'm currently trying to simplify my style, to make my characters cleaner. Who better to mold my style then Cheeks. I was real happy with the end result of this Wolverine. I am also starting to use color more. Markers to start. Hopefully we will start to see my art envolving.

Starbucks Dude

I went to Starbucks to draw with my friend Larry, who was late so I started with a quick sketch to the old muscle memory working. Don't worry Larry I would think there was something wrong if you were not late.

Short Bus Monsters

Not all monsters are scary, some are special.

Kung Fu Panda

If you haven't seen Kung Fu Panda, get up and run to your local theater. It is awesome. Not only a fun, knee slapping animated flick, but a kick ass kung fu movie. Here are a couple sketches of Po the Dragon Warrior.

Boys will be Boys!

Brothers at birth Cinder and Gabriel fight as they always have for control of the balance of power between Heaven and Hell. I think I will develop these characters further. I have always wanted to draw a comic based on some biblical stories of the battles of angels and demons. Let me know what you think.

Old Nasty Buzzard

Mad props to Goon creator Eric Powell for creating such great characters. He is one of the few comic artists that inspire me to draw.

Monster Tree

This was a difficult, but fun attempt at a montage of monsters. When I started the sketch I had to use different color pencils to keep the creatures separate. When I inked the image I used tracing paper and markers. I colored on both sides of the paper, to get different effects of texture. I was pretty happy with the way this turned out.

He looks angry

Here is a sketch I did awhile back. Just some angry teenage super villian. Why is he so angry?

I was using reference for a lot of these guys, from a true master Josh Middleton. Josh thanks for inspiring me to draw.

Book cover design

This was a finished sketch for a book cover design. I did an acrylic painting from this sketch. This design was a redo of Clive Barkers's CABAL. Great book, later to be made into the movie Nightbreed. Check it out, it's pretty cool.

This finished pencil drawing would later become a monochromatic acrylic painting.
